Photography Day Twenty-Nine... Look at me.

Today's pic: Something reflective. First thing that comes to my mind for something reflective is a mirror. This is a pic of Kristen taking a pic of partly the ocean in Carmel, but also of herself taking a pic of herself (never ending).

Good times...

Photography Day Fifteen... Water.

Surprise, surprise, it's another picture of the beach. But when I'm told to take a picture of water how can I help myself. I frickin' love the beach! And it's another picture of Capitola water. Beautiful.

Photography Day Fourteen... View from above.

If ever I have to look down upon something I want it to be the ocean. It's beautiful for so many reasons, but the most beautiful in my opinion is the immensity of it. It goes on and on forever. While that can be an incredibly scary thing, it's also amazing and thought provoking. At least to me. The ocean is a place where I can always go to clear my head and forget all the bull shit that I've left behind in the valley.

Photography Day Nine... Relaxation...

The best place to relax is the beach. This is the one California girl stereotype that I completely follow and will follow til the day I die. I love the beach. I prefer private beaches because I'm not into shit loads of people being around me and I like being able to read a book while listening to the surf without interruption.

Day Six... (Rememberance Song of Somewhere)

This may sound ridiculous but the one song that reminds me of somewhere would have to be "Escape" by Rupert Holmes (people know this as the pina colada song). Every time I'd go down south (Carmel and Capitola) with my mom and usually my cousin Kristen we'd listen to Pina Coladas on repeat and sing our heads off. Good times.

Day Three... (Happy Song)

Living Dead Girl

My Happy song would have to be "Living Dead Girl" by Rob Zombie. The song in itself may not be very "happy" but when I hear that song I think of good times. When Nancy and I would take off and head to Santa Cruz we'd listen to that song. I can't think of a better time then hanging out with my best friend and having no thoughts of stress or life.

...who has an insatiable love for the dead."

Day Twelve... (Love)

I love being at the beach with a book in one hand and a nice cold drink in the other. Most people use drugs to escape from their own reality, but I've always preferred to use books as my escape. Even when I used drugs, I still preferred books. I love getting lost in the written word. And I love being at the beach where everything smells fresh and unpolluted and all you see for miles is beautiful water and sand. And as for that cold drink... Either a nice cold beer, soda, or yummy pina colada will suffice.

The cure for anything is salt water...

...sweat, tears, or the sea.

Day Eight... (Funny Pic)

So I narrowed it down to two pictures. Obviously. This was another hard "day" because there are sooo many funny pictures that have been taken in my lifetime. My family is full of humor, and we definitely love capturing those moments.

The first picture is of my cousin Kristens "surfer boy watching chair". When we were in Capitola at the beach house my cousin would get up nice and early in the morning, go out back, sit on the chair, grab her binoculars and watch the hot surfer boys out in the water. It's a good memory of fun times in the summer, at the beach, and with family. Plus it's just funny that my cousin would have a specified chair for such viewing pleasure.

The second picture is of my dad back in the day. I think it's from the 70's, but I could be full of shit. If anyone knows my dad, you know that he lacks what my mom and I consider to be any sense of humor what-so-ever, so this picture is funny for so many reasons.

I hope you enjoyed my "funny" pictures...

...I know I sure do everytime I look at them.

If you like Pina Coladas...

So this is a Lava Flow, but same thing. Just take away the strawberry sauce.

So far today has been great. Woke up with a pina colada in my hand. Can't get much better than that. Unless I had a box of 20's in the other. Wishful thinking on that one.

I used to listen to "if you like pina coladas" by Rupert Holmes every time I'd take a drive down to Santa Cruz, Monterey, Capitola, or Carmel. And today seems like a perfect day to take a little drive. What a great frickin' day.
